Amber Heard has employed a new crisis management firm to represent her as the highly publicized trial between Johnny Depp, and Amber Heard enters its third week.

According to NBC, Heard, who is scheduled to testify in court this week, fired her public relations firm, Precision Strategies, just days before her scheduled appearance. A former deputy campaign manager for former President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign, Stephanie Cutter, co-founded the high-profile firm.

In early spring, heard, 36, bought the team to prepare for his defamation lawsuit against ex-husband Depp, 58, who claims Heard’s op-ed about domestic abuse in the Washington Post in 2018 “devastated” his career and reputation. He is seeking $50 million in damages from Heard.

Although Heard did not mention Depp by name in the op-ed, his legal team believes her claim that she became a “public figure representing domestic abuse” was enough to convict her.

The Management Group, a California-based firm with extensive Hollywood experience, has now been hired by Heard. According to the outlet, the actor allegedly changed PR firms after she “expressed frustration with coverage of the defamation case that may have favored Depp,” according to the outlet.

Jurors (and the rest of the world) have watched the former couple fight it out via their lawyers in this televised trial, from co-stars to lovers to foes. Each wants to paint others as the more toxic individual in the relationship.

Depp testified before the trial that he never physically abused Heard or any other woman. He has claimed that Heard was the instigator in the relationship, pushing him to get into profane arguments. He also claimed that he heard punched, kicked, and threw objects at him during their relationship.

Most support for Heard has been drowned out on social media by this narrative provided by Depp and his legal team, and it’s clear from a glance at social media that Team Depp appears to have taken control.

In his testimony, Depp also mentioned his previous opioid addiction, though he insists he is not and has never been an addict (apart from Roxicodone). Several heated audio and video recordings of the couple arguing were played in court.

The trial has also focused on Depp’s now-famous trip to Australia, during which he severed the tip of his finger. Depp claims he lost the digit after Heard threw a vodka bottle at his hand, but her lawyers say he injured himself in a drunken rage.

Heard is suing Depp for $100 million in retaliation.
